Moon-piercing breath. Left nostril only. Cools the body and quiets the nerves.

Important: Use with care in cold weather or if you feel sluggish.

How to practise

  1. Sit comfortably with spine tall.
  2. Rest LEFT hand on the belly.
  3. Right hand in nasagra mudra.
  4. Close the RIGHT nostril with thumb. Keep it closed throughout.
  5. Inhale slowly through the LEFT nostril.
  6. Exhale fully through the LEFT nostril.

Progression — levels

When to practise: Best done on an empty stomach — at least 2 hours after a meal. Early morning is ideal.
